Well Sun Dogs, I have packed the first crate for shipment. It is ready to be put in the container sometime in July or August. The artwork for both corridors and all the library are on this crate now and there is still room for the sun rays and part of the ramp wall artwork.

Lets do math: the south wall is 24 feet long, the west wall is 23 feet long, the north library wall is 12 feet long and 15 feet long.

24+23+12+15=74. That is 74 feet of artwork. About half is 20" high, the library is 48" high.

Area is length times height. The south wall is 24' x 2' (approximately)= 48 sqare feet of artwork on the east corridor wall. Many artists including Sydney Lawrence charged by the square foot for their paintings.

This rack will hold all of the corridor and library artwork as well as space on the bottom shelf for the sun rays which I haven't started yet.

This photo shows the first shelf loaded with the south library wall art work.

This rack and the others to follow will be loaded into a container and shipped by barge so I am planning on packing for jostling as well as bumps and drops.

I am using water noodles, a toy for water play, as packing materila. The artwork is suspended on sections and the sides are bounded by sections as well.

You can see from this picture how the artwork is kept from sliding in any direction.
It took some time to position all the pieces so they wouldn't touch and yet fill the space as full as possible.
Here is the rack full of the artwork. There is still some room available at the top and you can see the bottom shelf better for holding the sun rays.

I'll completely cover the rack with house wrap before loading it into the container.

Yes, I can get the rack out of the shop.

And yes, the shop is getting crowded and it is 3000 square feet.

I have decided to build the ramp artwork indoors, including the clouds so I made another mockup inside the studio. Now it is really getting crowded.

What you are looking at is from the school entrance. The down ramp portion is in front. The short wall is the wall separating the ramp from the steps to the library. So the far left side is the area above the down steps from the library.

The white chalk marks reprents a rough layout of the pattern of the clouds.

Making the trees is a slow process because there are so many steps. There are 30 trees here. I had to lay them out in the space to see how many more I needed. It turns out 30 more will be about right. That is a lot of trees.

The trees will be hanging from the clouds which will be overhead.

This is the first cloud of nine. The trees will be hung from the clouds.
