SLOOP 07
It seems that the Sloop 05 undergoes a regeneration every year. It is successful design and all the changes I have made have, in my view, been improvemnts. The latest change is substantial. I have switched to metal sails. The increase in weight and subsequent raising the center of gravity has caused some balance re adjustments, but not major ones.

The action is still the same, the design rocks pivots and heels in the wind. It is stable in winds up to 20 mph, then you will want to fasten the base with spikes or bolt it down.

The aluminum will not change color because it is marine grade 5052 and the rust patina on the steel will not change either. The bearings are UHMW an require no replacements, and afer 17 years of using this material I have still not heard of any wearing out.

The sails are trapped between the iron rods. The size of the sails is the same as the fabric version, although slots have been included in the shape so it because it looks better and allows some air to escape. More weight and lowering the counter balance arm were necessary to account for the increased weight above the center of gravity.

Size is 6' high, 4' long and the "boat" is 12" wide. The stand, which is included, is 24" in diameter.--------------------$685 Sold out for this year
