Public Art, or 1% for Art commissions have made up a substantial portion of my professional life. I started in 1977 with the entry of the public art program in Alaska and have done 38 public art commissions to date. There have been numerous private commissions as well. The following pages are samples of what I have done. Most of the pictures are a little off because many were done before the computer, imagine that.

Mixed media is my primary method, mostly metal and wood. All commissions, whether public or private are site specific. The client's wishes and needs are the biggest design drivers. Other factors such as weather, wall substrate, use of building architecture, location, vandalism, and maintenance enter into the design which directs the ultimate look and feel of the artwork.
